One attorney. One city. Unlimited potential
Claim it before someone else doesColfax is a small town along I-80, but the mix of older buildings downtown, hillside terrain, and businesses that see a lot of foot traffic near S Auburn Street and N Main Street creates plenty of chances for uneven walkways, poor lighting, and neglected spills to cause serious falls. Whether the fall happened in a grocery store, a rental property, or on a business's front steps, California law requires the property owner to have known or reasonably should have known about the hazard before they can be held responsible. That's why what happens right after the fall matters: photos of the exact spot, the names of any witnesses, and a request to preserve any surveillance footage can make a real difference later. Our team can review what happened, explain your options, and help you understand the notice requirement as it applies to your situation.
California requires showing the property owner knew or should have known about the hazard, which usually means gathering maintenance records, prior complaints, or inspection logs. We can help identify and request this evidence before it disappears.
Many businesses overwrite security footage within days or weeks. Our team can send a preservation letter quickly to help make sure video of the fall isn't lost.

*No attorney's fee unless there is a recovery. The client may be responsible for court costs and case expenses.
Even if you're partly blamed for not seeing a hazard, California's pure comparative fault rule means you may still recover a share tied to the other party's responsibility. We can help present the facts fairly rather than let assumptions decide the outcome.
